The Dragon Boat Festival is a yearly event that is held at False Creek which is practically my backyard so I was really excited to do this project. This project required me to do the branding which would dictate the overall style of the event package.
To start, I knew I wanted to create a graphic that was uniquely Vancouver so I incorporated the Science World building into the background landscape with water. Then I created the dragon graphic to represent the boats. I used this graphic in all the print material.
I would usually do the logo first but it was the last thing I made. I chose a fun, Asian inspired font as my main feature and worked the other words in a typographic arrangement. I loved how the final outcome highlighted the curves of the font I chose and how it came together when combined with the graphic.
This was a university project. I got an A for amazing.
